Well it definitely sounds like a generator. Where did you get the alternator from? Warranty?

Use a mechanic's stethoscope to determine the exact component the noise is coming from.

so you think it's the generator and not the belt? I got my alternator replace by NTB, I will bring it back this weekend to see what they say.

It sounds like a bearing, but I'd bet it's not the brand new ones in the alternator. I bet the belt was over-tensioned when the alternator was reinstalled and an older worn-out bearing is starting to fail. The sound might go away as the belt heats up and lengthens.

Sounds like a pulley or a bearing. Cheap fix, just take it to a good shop, you should be in and out for less than $20

Where did you buy the alternator? If 'lifetime warranty' from advance or autozone, my money is on a bad alt right out of the box.
