This guy is selling a 97 lincoln mark 8 for 500 bucks but it needs a motor.... I wonder how much it'd cost if I have a shop do it...?
I'd wonder what else it needs.
I worked with a guy who had an older Lincoln with air shocks. The rear shocks needed to be replaced and the system cost around $2000 IIRC to fix properly.
Call a shop and ask?
Try locating an engine in your area. Junkyard pulls are an idea too. Prices can be all over the place. Labor rates can vary too.
I had a '98 STS
Needed an engine.
Cadillac dealer quoted me $10,000 lol
I found a used engine and had it installed for $3,000 out the door.

Mark VIII is nothing more than the standard Ford 4.6 liter, used motors should be widely available.
As you posted, the air suspension is an easy fix with standard coil springs.
Sadly, even with a new motor, the car isn't going to be worth any more money than you have put in it.
typical used motor with labor around $3500 with a rebuilt engine $5k with typically needed parts.
Not worth the money hoenstly unless you love the car and the body is in a condition to warranty the repower.
Mark8 can be a fun ride with some mods to.
Thanks. Do you own a shop? I'll just keep waiting for a car that doesn't need a motor... haha
Not entirely. a 1997 mark8 is a 32v dohc B head engine and getting good ones is getting challenging.
If you wanna argue with a shop owner feel free.
BTW b heads are great with a bit of boost. We made 1400hp with a set of unported heads and a cam change.
If it was a C head engine he could swap in a engine out of a mach1 mustang or a maruader. No dice here.
