Engine specs & history

Does anyone have a website or reference to a list of engines by spec. companies that details hp, tq, and anything else useful (such as stroke, bore, etc)? Preferably in the pre-85 years.

I already google searched and came up with jack crap...

Any and all cars, if at all possible. I'm not planning on memorization, but to have it handy would be nice.

I already have back to '84 using autotrader.com's listing, but thanks for trying anyway
