Please change the title on the thread. It is a little too inflammatory.

It'll sell better than you think. I can't find any sales numbers but I bet Palm sells more Curves than Bolds. This is the market it's aimed for. It's not a high end phone and isn't priced like one. It's aimed at the mid level market and it will do fairly well. I imagine my wife is going to want one to upgrade from her 8530. She doesn't want or need a high end phone. She just loves her BB for texting and email. I am the gadget junkie that replaces his cell phone every six months with the latest and greatest.

Thread title still sucks, that is not a review.

It looks hideous, but some people REALLY like flip phones. A friend of mine had the Pearl flip and loved it.

I had some Pearl Flips, in fact I think we still have a Prototype one in the house that was in a metalic Red colour that was never sold, could be worth some money to a fan boy...

But the Pearl Flip sucked. It sucked because of the form factor combined with the Suretype reduced KB. With a full KB I can see the point, and this is aimed squarely at women, so I'm not surprised there are few fans in here.

The outside notifications screen is actually a peach and the only thing that was good about the Pearl Flip. You can preview emails and messages using the volume keys without opening the device.

If you naysayers actually look at all the photos this thing is pretty cool. overall smaller footprint than reg BBs but when unfolded the screen is bigger and the KB is roughly the same. This is actually pretty freaking nice.

Don't forget, it keeps the ear piece by your ear and since it is longer when open it moves the mic closer to your mouth so less "Can you here me???". I'm not a fan of flip phones, but just because I don't like them, doesn't mean I'll call the crap and fail. Differet strokes for different folks.
