Enermax Thermo Controlled fans & Enermax Fan controller

I bought four Enermax Ultra-Cool Thermo Controlled fans with little temperature probes. If I get an Enermax Fan Controller will it override the temperature probes on my fans, or will the fans still control themselves?

Alternatively, if I were to clip the temperature probe, or short it, would that force the fan to run full throttle, or to submit control to the fan controller?
 
Why waste money buying temp controlled fans to use with a controller. Only use normal fans w/ controllers.

Basically, the fan controller will control the maximum speed of the fans. If you clip the temp probes, it's uncertain how that'll affect the fans - depends on how they've wired it.
