Enermax PSU squaky sound ?!?!?!?!

I have a 350W Enermax with 2 fans, and manual speed control. I recently changed a lot of hardware and now i have an XP 1800+ (not yet o/c), 2x7200 HHDs (2 platters each), agp card, net card, sound card and thats about it ...

The thing is THE ENERMAX IS MAKING A SQUAKY SOUND that's almost like the sound a TV makes, but in this case its at the barrier where you can hear it. It drives me nuts. It only happened after i upgraded to this XP 1800+ (before i had an AMD 700MHz). It sounds like an 15000-16000Hz beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep ....

Another thing i noticed is that when the CPU load increases the sound gets even louder ...

Did any1 else experienced this ??

I will change the PSU anyways but i want to make sure i wont get the same effect again with the new PSU

Cheers,
BoG

It's very possible that you are hearing fan whine. I know with my Antec, when I do something as simple as using the scrollwheel on my mouse that the psu fan spins a little faster and the pitch goes up slightly. I agree that it's pretty annoying.

Fan sound at 16000Hz ... impossible. And i haven't noticed any increase/decrease in fan speed when cpu load is modifying.
Also note that i said it makes that sound all the time even if the cpu load stays at 0 or at a fixed value (it just varies its volume when cpu load changes).

But anyway, i stoppen the oter fan with a pencil and it still makes the damn sound.
I will try to stop both of them with a pencil or something.

My opinion is that it is the chopper inside that has the inductance of poor quality and its elements are vibrating (normally the elements are glued together and put into rasin ... if the rasin is of poor quality or not in sufficient quantity then the elements begin vibrating).

And with your Antec ... i think its fan is motherboard controlled, and when the cpu load changes then speed changes.
My enermax is the model with manual speedcontrol and besides that i didnt connect the PSU conector to the mobo ...

Any1 experiencing high frequency sounds coming from the PSU?? and what config do you run?

Thanks,
BoG
