Enermax Phoenix Case

Wow, it's been a long time since I've seen a case that made me go "wow, I like that. I might get it for my system."

Enermax rules!

They're the 'King of Cheap'... and I mean that in a good way! 😉

Said it many times in these forums, and don't have that many posts under my belt...

Kudos, Enermax!

Yeah, I'm a big fan of these 250mm fans that are out now. Of course it also depends on where that fan is located. I like them on the side, myself.

250mm fans..... give me a break .

Anyone have any impressions of this case? It looks more and more like it will be my next computer's case.

Sorry for the 1½ month bump, but I really like this case.

EDIT: specifically, I'd like to know which heatsinks fit in the case and which ones don't.

i'd also like to know which heatsinks will fit and if fitting an 8800gtx in it would be a problem

Enigma5 seems to like it... 9/10 & Recommended Award 😉

This is another excellent case from Enermax

Dittos for Sludge... Silver Award

We all know that Enermax has a fine line of computer related items in their lineup. The Phoenix certainly fits right into that category...

For the owners of large heat-sink fans on their CPU's: there may be a clearance issue between the side panel fan and the top of the HSF. So far, that is the only possible issue I encountered with the Phoenix case.

The Phoenix is the most solid mid-tower Cases we?ve seen in awhile.

Want more?!?!? 😀

The Enermax Chakra/Phoenix/etc. are just more variations on the basic CM Centuion (at least that's the first place I recall seeing this design) chassis. Now everyone is using it. It would be better with some rubber vibe isolation for the HDDs, but 4 out of 5 ain't bad. And that monster fan which removes the necessity for any other except maybe a weak one to force some air across the HDDs makes up a half a Casitude point - give it 4.5/5.

Yes, reviews are nice, but the most important "reviews" come from users who use the case on a daily basis, with their own equipment (and hopefully, the equipment that I will be using in a few months). I'm wondering what heatsinks will fit and what won't, specifically. I don't think a Scythe Ninja will fit, but will a Freezer7 work?

I'm wondering if a tower heatsink is really the best idea for a case with a huge side fan like that. Since you've got a huge amount of cold air from outside being blown straight "down" onto the mobo I'd think something like a big typhoon or xp-120 would work better in that case.

A plus about that fan is that it comes with a switcher, so that you can make it draw air into the case or blow air out of the case.
