Enermax Noisetaker EG701P-VE ATX V1.3 600W
I'm getting a good deal on this psu, and will be using it to build my new rig.

I did some research and found that Enermax has a new model to replace this unit, which is EG701AX-VE SFMA2 SLI. They're classifying this one as V2.0 "SLI" compatiable. Is this just a marketing scheme by Enermax or will I have trouble running the Enermax Noisetaker EG701P-VE ATX V1.3 600W in SLI on an AMD 64 Platform?

Thanks in Advance guys :)

ATX V2.0 isn't a marketing scheme. It means it has a 24pin connector and some other enhancements.

The "SLI" compatible is nothing more than a marketing ploy. A quality 400Watt PSU should have no problem running SLI.

Some of newer power supplies have two 12v rails. There is big arguments over two rail power supplies. Read this thread: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=29&threadid=1510330&enterthread=y also this one:http://ht.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/38623/?o=0 (the Author of that forum had trouble with two of the new OCZ 600W which has a 20amp and 18amp rails.)

Alienware, vodoo, and falcon all use two 12v rail power supplies. The last two use the Enermax EG701AX-VE SFMA2 SLI while alienware uses a special two rail pc power and cooling.

When I called PC power and cooling I got the impression they no longer make the two 12v rail power supply.

I decided to go with a single 12v rail power supply. Just ordered a pc power and cooling 510 SLI. Expensive but seemed like the safest bet with my system.

First link doesn't work.

Also if they are having problems then they either got a defective PSU or they are doing something wrong. Dual 12V rails is better than a single one.

The first link is fixed.

The problem is the 12v rails being limmited on amps with one always running at max on high end systems.

No, it means it has two PCI-E connectors.

I was talking about the Enermax "Noisetaker 2" ref. EG701AX VE SFMA 2.0 SLI (scroll down and read the blue letters)
