Enermax CS-800TA cases at Excaliber PC ~$39 shipped

I came pretty close to buying one of these a month ago , even at the full price at Newegg. These
are deep and heavy cases @ ~29lbs. They are a total Enermax product..designed and built from the ground up.. in other words you cannot get the same chasis in any other case.

The Enermax CS-800TA-A7W sells for about $89 shipped @ Newegg,

The only catch is it says "CD/DVD-ROM Clip and FDD Clip are not included." so I am not sure how the drives have to be mounted.

Argh! I was really close to ordering. Anyone know more about this?

I want the yellow one IF it has black trim..ive emailed Excaliber about it.

Its possible they are getting rid of some old stock or something though.

Yeah, I noticed that. It definately looks better with black trim. I can't make up my mind. The green one will be either very sweet or fugly. Not sure which 😉. I wish they had the white or the grey one.

I think its pretty gay and cool at the same time, the case design itself seems very nice. It has a retro 60s look to it.

As it is id take the green, if the yellow has black trim then id go that route. Also note the yellow one on Enermax's site is a nicer shade of yellow..the one on Excaliber's site is ugly.
The safest buy is the green IMO.

The CD drive has a door mechanism so you can put in any color drive. I was worried that was what they meant by the clips but I don't see any mention of this thing for the floppy drive.

^ black drive in case with white/grey drive cover

i bought the silver model from a local computer shop near me for $80. very nice case. lots of room. the clips are great, makes it easy to pop drives in and out. only negative to it is that the hdd's slide in and the ide connectors face the side of the case (with the fan on it). was kind of a pain to get my rounded cables to fit with the side panel on. mine only came with one fan which was mounted on the side panel.

Nice price for a nice case. From personal experience the weight will drive you nuts. After adding a decent PS like a Fortron you have have to be careful about lifting it. You may not think about it too much if you're young but lifting it wrong can give you a lifetime of problems. Buy aluminum!!!

I like steel, vibrates less, seems more sturdy, is cheaper

Far as arguement that aluminum transfers heat better its just plain bogus when refering to computer cases. Sure does for a heatsink but case temps are a few degrees above room temps. No where near warm enough for the material of the case to act as a giant heatsink like some reviewers claim.

BTW they have the IOGEAR 2 port KVM Switch GCS62 (Refurbished) for 10 bucks as well.
Not bad a deal if it works.

Oh man i was really wanting one of these cases but in white. Hmm i wonder if it has the black trim? The model number on newegg is the same and shows the black trim and i cant find another case without the trim. If someone finds out one way or another i will probably go for this deal i have atleast one computer that could use a new case.

Has anyone found a paint/vinyl dye to match this yellow case? Or better yet, somewhere to buy additional cd/dvd drive covers?
