Guys.. I am looking for a descent power supply to do quad sli for my new build gaming rig. Friends suggest to go for PC Power & Coolings but I am also looking for other suggestions. Thanks!

The Enermax Libertys are good units, if that means anything.
I have yet to find out who builds for Enermax or if they *really* build thier own. They are
a very secrative company.
Buy it and have our http://www.jonnyguru.com/ load test and review it for all of us.

Question is who needs it?
Far better and less expensive to get two reasonably powered PSUs.
The Fortron/Sparkle Epsilon series are interesting too. And there's always Zippy for top-line PSUs. And Enhance/Silverstone are good too.
Some Enermax are ChannelWell, some are Topower. Their Noisetaker and Liberty series have earned pretty good reps. And their little 270W SFX units are top-notch.

A few guys on DFI-Street.com (the place I primarily post) own the 1KW PC&C and have been extremely happy with them.
That being said this is a relatively new PSU and you will not find many people with any actual experience.

Why do you think you need it? Quad SLI is 7950GX2 territory. Two GX2 cards will DRAW LESS THAN A X1900XT CROSSFIRE SYSTEM. (Sorry about the bold and caps, but it's a bit of a pet hate when people overspec the PSU resulting in doubling the price for no reason)

Get yourself an enermax 600W and be happy, hell get a 600W PCP&C and be happy (but slightly poorer).
Not to mention that quad SLI just doesn't work at the moment etc. etc.

thanks for all the heads up guys.. Also, while I was researching on the enermax, I found this 2 places selling the 1kw at about 100 bucks cheaper than PC Power & Coolings. I wonder if this will be good bang for the buck since the features looks promising. Thanks again

Before you shell out on the 7950GX2 (s) may i ask what LCD you're looking at right now?
For a 19" LCD a single 7950GX2 is (massive) overkill. The most you need to run at that resolution with (nearly) all the eye candy is around a 7900GT. Going to a 7900GTX or the GX2 gives you more fps, but with a few exceptions the 7900GT gives playable fps.
For 20" widescreen to 24" a single 7950GX2 is more than good enough, especially if you overclock, a slightly higher end options may be X1900XTX crossfire (especially if you go for water cooling). If you're talking 30" LCD then i'm going to go sulk because of the unfairness of it all :|

I am thinking off a DELL 2407WFP at this moment. Its widescreen 24" and I saw my friend having a similar model from DELL but looks little different.

Modular isn't better. You don't want any superfluous connections in high-current circuits - no connector adapters no nothing.... Modular can be tolerable if it is done correctly and very few are.

I almost bought a 2405 once, it's a very tempting idea still.
I'd just go for a single 7950GX2 or go for X1900XTX crossfire for that. Then with the money you save on the second card upgrade again as soon as G80 turns up and sell on the GX2. There's a step up program with eVGA but i suspect you'd be waiting too long for a 8950GX2 to step up to (there's a load of info in the video forum if you find this concept interesting)
It may be worth sticking up a thread in video along the lines of "What GPU for 24" widescreen?" there's a good few floating around here with that sort of graphical monster who could give personal experience input.

You are right Bob.. I did little research and X1900XTX might be a good choice for now. Compare to $600 7950GX2 I can get X1900XTX for around $450 and turn my res & AA all the way up. Guess saving some $$ for a DX10 video card will be a good choice then. Now, here comes my question. Will there be new standard for power supplies? I mean I don't want to spend 200 bucks for a 600-700w power supply and having troubles upgrade to DX10 video cards. Any suggestion will be welcome thanks!
Well if you're going for a single X1900XTX card (that would be pushing it for a 2407) then a 450W PSU is enough, if you're going for crossfired X1900XTXs then a good 600W is enough which is only a mere $150 or so. The 7950GX2 can be run from a 450W PSU.

No one knows what the next gen of cards will be like. I wouldn't worry too much myself, cross that bridge when and if you need to, worst case you can always get one of the 5.25" add in PSUs.
