Energy Drinks just make me tired

So I went to a frat thing today, and the frat gets free energy drinks since a brother is a representative. They were Rockstars. I drank one, and I just felt fucking tired half an hour later. I don't even remember feeling energetic beforehand; maybe just a little jittery. It's as if I had the side effects of coffee without the energy. It sucked.

And don't use this thread to release your pent-up anger towards frats.

Why mentions frats then??

Anyway, it isn't all that abnormal to have opposite reactions to caffeine and the crap they put in those drinks.

People with add or adhd react differently to caffeine. As in it calms then down, it does the same thing for me. Thats the only explanation ive been able to find on the internet, take it with a grain of salt.

Do you drink a lot of caffeinated drinks? If so, that explains it. A lot of people develop caffeine resistance/dependence. Obviously caffeine isn't a hardcore or illicit drug, but it still is a drug.

It's weird when I was entirely too fat and out of shape energy drinks did this to me as well.

Now that I'm (more) fit and not obscenely obese they seem to work as directed. Perhaps it has something to do your current metabolism?

Coffee always makes me super jittery, but energy drinks never do. They keep me up just as well, though.

Sometimes caffeine makes me sleepy, too. I have often had this with energy drinks. They are mostly crap anyway. coffee is far better, I think.

btw I do this with the no-carb ones, too, so it's got nothing to do with a sugar crash for me.

Has happened to me when pretty lean and fit!
