Speak for yourself. My music jukebox has my CD collection in lossless FLAC format, delivered to my receiver with an optical digital connection.

Besides, you're a puppet of the Shadows :)

So who sells on the internet in a lossless FLAC format? Or any lossless format, just curious.

Never, EVER buy an old album that has been "remastered". They fuck with the mastering to increase the volume which ruins the dynamics of the album. Sounds like crap. No snap in the snare, no high end in the cymbals, just awful.

I don't mean to crap on your deal OP, but really people... don't do this to your ears or to this amazing album.

Jebus guys, its only $3, good enough to play in the background or off your phone/tablet speakers. All should know its compressed and not audiophile quality, especially again for $3.

Im playing it off my tablet on my Onkyo TX NR709 and sounds good to me. Bass and snare hits good, and all around fine AGAIN for $3 :p
320KBPS doesnt sound so bad to me, IMO.

It's a great deal if you don't mind lossy, I was just responding to the comment that "it doesn't matter".

Since I'm a music snob I buy the CD, rip to FLAC for my jukebox, then either re-rip or transcode for use on my iPod.

If you really were a music snob you would only listen to 24-bit FLACs ripped from pristine vinyl records. :p

But, yeah; all joking aside, I just can't bring myself to buy MP3s. :(
One of the best rock albums ever.
Their stuff from the early to mid-70s (ie, before their music was completely dominated by Roger Waters's self-pity) is way, way better.

My fav is Meddle.

the wall is one of the best music albums in history, period.

i agree about the remastering. this album was originally mastered extremely well, i dont see why it needed changing. plus, 320kbs mp3 is good but its not losses- even if you cant hear the difference you wont really want to re-encode off of it like you can with lossless formats.

Matter of taste, Dark Side of the Moon is the other contender. I can enjoy Meddle a bit, but it's not in the same class I think. Even earlier stuff is unpleasant.

For me the best ones are Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You were here. I like The Wall overall but find it a bit overproduced, but still a fine album.

Weird, I do the exact same thing...

I honestly challenge you to blind-compare lossless to lossy. Above 160k~ it is very, very difficult for even a trained ear to tell the difference, and even then the only giveaways are very mild fractures.

You should head over to Hydrogen Audio and tell them how good your ears are, because they'll all just haze you for saying you can hear anything above what's delivered online nowadays.

Besides, you're a puppet of the Shadows :)

Only a few years left though. :p
