never played WoW cause i knew addication is inevitable.

That, and the concept of monthly fees, no matter how well deserved, went against my cheap-skate nature.

amen

Agreed. I can't understand paying a monthly bill for a game that needs to be "purchased" in the first place when their are more important bills to pay.

Yes I understand that they have server fees etc... but paying ~$170 bucks to play a video game for the first year is silly to me.

I just recently cancelled as well. Got a taste for endgame raiding, as our guild got up to Sulfuron in Molten Core. I just lost interest though, being a priest might have had something to do with it as well. I spent an assload of time on this game, but it was pretty easy to put down.

My list:

60 Shaman
60 Priest
33 Hunter
Random other lower levels.

I dont see where the problem is. You are paying for a service that they are providing. Simple as they. Look at it this way....You pay around 12 bucks a month for this game. If you are playing any of these MMOs are deff playing more then 12 hours a month. At the very least thats 1 buck per out of entertainment. Many people that play the game play well more then 12 hours a month. For the amount of time people play it its really not that much money.

Now I fully agree that if you have other bills to pay and cant afford the game..DONT PLAY. If you ahve a full family, a full time job, and stuff to do..DONT PLAY

Started back this week, have not played it in over 5 months. Katrina killed my MMORPGs for about a month and half. Played Everquest 2 before then, now giving EQ2 a break to try the latest version of WOW and so far i like......... I dont have a problem paying $15 a month for a fun game that gives me a few hours of entertainment each week.

My name is Zebano and I have been WoW and MMORPG free for 7 months now <shivers> welcome to the real world.... welcome to ATOT and good luck rebuilding that social life.

Just got my 2nd 60 a week ago... level 60 rogue. Added that to my level 60 warlock. Now I'm torn between PvP, Endgame content, or leveling either my warrior (who stalled at 23 - my first WoW character ever), my druid, my pally or my priest.

Congrats on going cold turkey. Now you just have to sell the account on Ebay to remove all temptation. I just got rid of my CoH account on Ebay for a nice chunk of change.

I quit due to the fact that it got stupidly boring with endgame content. Guild would have a raid, since I'm new, I got no DKP and no items for me. So I have to keep playing in order to win items. Pyrmaid scheme I say. If the guild dies, well, I end up getting no items. Beside a raid on any endgame instance would take about 4 hours, except Oynxia. Guild raids 6 times a week! There is no way the normal working person has time to keep raiding.

My last day was the 8th of October. I had a 60 warlock and a 59 priest (both undead) and a 11 mage (gnome). Finally got tired of it though and quit. Will probably pick it up again around Thanksgiving or Christmas. Bought Guildwars but havent gotten immersed in it yet. Quake 4 is out next week and I've been playing Halflife 2 through again so I've been keeping busy with that.

No lvl 60 in 4 months? You suck at WoW. And nobody wants to buy your account w/o a lvl 60 toon. How much gold do you have? 5G?

I found stopping pretty easy. Once you hit like day 3 without playing. You really have no inclination to go back.

Warsong:
60 UD Priest
60 Troll Rogue
58 Tauren Warrior

A "friend" of a friend of mine has three level 60s...that, to me, is absolutley ridiculous.

I'm happy with my lvl 20 pally...I play a few hours a week...it's fun. 🙂

I just got my gnome mage to lvl 60 on Lightbringer server. I see it this way...if I don't play, I most likely will be out doing something which will cost money such as grabbing a cup of boba or watching a crappy movie at the theatre or even worse shopping at the mall. I still have plenty of things to do. I go golfing about twice a month, have softball every thursday and still go bowling with my friends once a week. I spend time with my wife during the weekend and am in the process of helping her get her business started.

Its all about time management. 🙂

Game addiction. *shakes head*

Never touched WoW but I was on EQ for a sorry 4 years. Finally had enough, cancelled, and never looked back. EVER!

MMRPG'S are fun, you just need to control your compulsion. I play about an hour a night and maybe a couple on a weekend. It's fun =) A lot better than watching TV ... that crap rots your brain.
