Mr S mentioned MoMA at it remided me of this.
Story time.
My some with autism wanted to see the Statue of Liberty so I took him to NY. The final thing to do on our trip was a visit to MoMA because they have Vincent Van Gohs Starry Night painting. He likes that paining. I figured we would go Friday at dinner time because no one will want to a museum at that time. When we go there we found out that MoMA has free admission after 5:00 on Friday. Of course the line to get in was extremely long.
As we walked around the museum my some started to voice his opinions on the modern art. I thought they were so funny I had to start to take notes of them. Now before you all say, he was just saying what we all were thinking, you have to realize one thing that people with autism have is problems with volume control when they speak. My son always uses what can best be described as an outside voice.
It is a little tan in here.
Who used all the white paint?
It looks like someone turned up the disco ball or put me in an aquarium.
And the best. The gentleman in the TV had his head spinning between all 4 TV screens and was saying things that you would only hear in a museum of modern art.
Well, this does not work for me.
Who would make something weird like that!
I encourage all of you if you have the chance, take an autistic person to a museum of modern art and just enjoy the mayhem they can cause. It is wonderful.
