encryption software

I am looking for something that will encrypt some areas of my usb drive but not others. I know the jumpdrive secure comes with software that makes a "public" partition and a "private" one I would be happy with something like that but would be even happier if I can find some way to encrypt that area. I just bought my wife a 512 usb drive and would like her to be able to put her work files in the private space and still use the rest for less sensitive data.
