I'm at college, and whenever I download something my DUmeter shows that I'm uploading at least at 10k/sec, which can't be several random packets. I have adaware, and I have Kazaa lite. I also ran netstat to check connections, but some of them I have no idea what they are. In any case, is there any way for me to encrypt what I download or at least make myself invisible to the server? Whenever I download from someone and press netstat, it shows their username/college account.

to be able to encrypt a download the server and the client both must support it. if your server doesnt you are out of luck.

you can take a sniff of the network traffic to see where all that traffic is going but i suspect its probably the normal acks you send when using tcp.
