A few days ago I started getting a warning message from Norton Anti Virus everytime I hit check my mail with Eudora 5.2.

An encrypted email connection has been detected.

Please see help for more information on how to transmit encrypted email.

It has an option not to show again.

This started happening on Wednesday I think.

What is this? Is it cause for concern? A virus? Or a message I'm unable to recieve because I didn't setup for it?

Any insight for me would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Did you configure Eudora to use SSL for the email connection? Accidentally or on purpose? The encrypted connection is being initiated by Eudora, not by a particular message that you're trying to receive. Eudora is basically connecting to the mail server on a port using SSL rather than the standard email port and unencrypted service. Check the configuration for your mail server in Eudora.

I didn't configure it that way. But you were right, it was setup for that. Disabling fixed it. Kind of wierd that it just started up last week. Maybe I hit the mouse wheel when that window was active by accident.

Thank you very much.
