The win2k limitation is that NTFS cannot be used on ROM discs (requires write access). I discovered that with PGPdisk but I don't know if it is actually win2k itself or more specificially its version of NTFS at fault (win2k has 3.0, XP has 3.1). So you use FAT32 instead. I have messed about a bit with TrueCrypt and am considering using it instead of PGPdisk. The Traveller feature is nice ... being able to run on any machine sans installation (even from the same disc the encrypted data is on). PGP Desktop can make SDA's (Self Decrypting Archive) though. I have not tested XP NTFS on a ROM disc yet but, unlike PGP 8, it does work on RAM discs (don't know about PGP 9). TC is missing convenient tray access (although the third-party SecureTrayUtil is available); and a container file cannot be set to use a particular drive letter (has to be chosen every time or opened via a custom batch file); and it does not offer folder mounting which is particularly convenient for email databases and such.
