Encoding .avi to DVD

Is it really supposed to take this long? I have been encoding a tennis match and it seems like its been an hour but its at 30%? Im using Toast 7.

Anyone else with any experience?

depends on how long the content is. I have no idea how long an average Tennis match is, but transcoding avi to a usable mpeg2 for DVD isn't a fast process.

Yep. If you want a faster transcoding process, you need to build a beast of a machine. It takes about an hour for me to transcode 23 minutes of an AVI file on my machine that has a AMD64 2800+ cpu and 1Gig of RAM.

Batch runs overnight is my suggestion.
