Enclosed porch question

Quick q for anyone who's explored this before. I'll be asking a builder as well but there's plenty of knowledge to float around here. We're enclosing a porch for a cat litter/'outside' cat room/tiny storage space. It's north facing (in the north) so what I'm hoping is that we can fully enclose it in glass/plexiglass, and not have any venting for heat/cool so we don't have to condition the air in any way. I'm expecting that space still be mostly ambient in the summer/winter which is fine. Am I correct in that assessment? It gets very brief evening sun (maybe an hour or two) but otherwise shaded. Thoughts?

You have to have some kind of ventilation for a space like that if you don't want it to be a total greenhouse and stink with the cats. i may suggest a high and low vent on each end to outside if you are not concerned about keeping a temperature.

even a pair of these on each end would probably work fine:

where do you live? A room like that at our place would be about 150* f in the summer sun and down to -20* F in the winter. similar to our greenhouse.

Well, it's not facing the sun, hence my question about whether vents were needed for heat reasons. Yeah an actual greenhouse becomes unbearable if it's south facing up here (New York btw). Good point about general air circulation though, might still be needed for that. It's covered so maybe I can put in a ceiling vent to a side vent, piped through the porch ceiling. Hmm.

I would say anything enclosed, even if not getting direct sun, is going to warm up to a pretty high temperature just due to general radiation transmission. Some type of air circulation, even as simple as a turbine fan on the roof, would help with that.

I know it will add significantly to the cost, but how Bout wither adding windows that will open...or build a screen porch that you can use storm windows on. (Those can be a PITA )
