enabling ntfs permissions

To configure PHP on WinXP using IIS, I've been told to chnage the NTFS permissions on my c:\php folder so the enti9re computer has access.

I have tried to do this, but when I get to the properties menu of this folder, there is no "Security" tab. What am I missing?

You probably have Simple Security or whatever it's called enabled.

Simple File Sharing. Go to foler options/view tab/uncheck Simple File Sharing.

"Simple File Sharing" - it's under Tools->Folder Options in Windows Explorer.

Strangely, I'm having the same "missing Security tab" issue on a box I just built. Simple Security is ALREADY unchoosen, but still there is no tab and the simple security type choices still appear.

Hmmm.... wonder if something is already hosed on a box that isn't even completely loaded yet!
