you cant even run 3ghz on default voltage?

please tell us what you are doing wrong, cause you are definately doing something wrong!
(3ghz is not even far enough for intel to concider it a stable 2.8)

adding vcore aint gonna help the temps ;)

make sure GAT is set to A-A-A-D-D
nbs800
agp/pci is fixed 66/33
1.65v vagp (cause of your OCed 4200)
cas 2-8-2-2 (yes 8)

might wanna lower your vdimm to 2.9v and go 5:4 (at first)

:)

I agree that is strange, I am able to hit 230fsb @default voltage on both an IC7 and AI7
with no problems, temps between 50-55.

i run my vdimm at 2.78v cause anything more don't help
and i'll try for 3ghz again and maybe try latencies like you suggest

3ghz was stable now with 1.34v and 1:1 2-2-2-6 latencies
i am at 3.22ghz now 1.34v 5:4 2-2-2-6

3.22ghz 5:4 2-2-2-6 230mhz fsb
cpu arith: 8782 3709/6799
cpu mult: 22791/30629
mem: 5096/5096

i am at 3.5ghz 5:4 2-2-2-6 250fsb 200mem
it performs like a 3.2ghz P4c

but i can already get a new 3dmark score :)

Dude...it could just be that you're running Windows XP Home instead of Pro. The home edition only supports 1 CPU.

Wrong ,Windows Home supports hyperthreading,it doesn't support 2 real cpus but it does support virtual cpus such as Hyperthreading.

much better!

i was unable to get 3.5ghz fully stable
the temps would shoot up fast 62c with any voltage i tryed

it looks like i might not get much more than 3.22ghz untill i setup a water cooling rig
at 3.2ghz the prescott performs like a 2.9ghz P4c
at 3.5ghz it was performing like a 3.2ghz P4c

i get too many BSOD with this chip when i try to go higher than the 3.2-3.4ghz range

i did get the system to post with the chip clocked at 3.9ghz with 1.6v
but 4ghz would not allow the system to turn on even with 1.63v
i could get 3.6ghz and 3.8ghz to briefly enter windows but would BSOD or lockup after a few minutes
3.3ghz seemed to be stable but after a few hours BSOD

this thing runs at about 46c idle and 56c underload with the 3.22ghz 5:4 230fsb 1.34v setting

what temp does the P4 thermal throttling kick in ?
