enabling Crysis 2 cheats

I have the latest retail version of crysis. I am able to bring up the console with the ~ key.
However, using g_godMode=1 returns "unknown command".
Is there something I am missing?

With the later patches, those commands no longer work(still can't figure out Crytek with that one). The only that I know of now is to use a trainer.
 
i used a trainer but was mainly hoping for a way to get rid of those game shredding moments where you lose control of your character and are forced to use armour mode etc.

awful, awful ideas
