enable remote desktop connection at startup

I have a Win XP machine and a Win 7 machine. I want to control/ access my win xp machine from my win 7 machine but without a monitor on the win xp machine. To get remote desktop connection to work I have to first logon to my win xp machine. Is there any way to set it up so that if I power up my win xp machine but don't actually log on to it, I can then connect from my Win 7 machine?
