Enable eXtreme Hard Drive (XCD) in Bios?

W7, all updates, 32 bit, Gigabyte p67a-ud3p-b3 board, latest bios. Recently was able to convert to ahci from ide in the bios.There's an option to enable "eXtreme Hard Drive (XHD)". I use only a 240GB SSD, and have absolutely no interest in RAID. Would there be any advantage to enable this? Would there be any disadvantage? Any pitfalls?

Edit...Post title should be "XHD", not "XCD".

You should read your motherboard manual to figure out what eXtreme Hard Drive can be used for.

I have read the manual numerous times. It is still unclear to me if this setting would make any difference in my non raid situation.

It's a feature for creating user-friendly (i.e. easy) RAID 0 or 1 arrays using two drives. Not for single drives.
