I've got this case and have 3 92mm fans laying around. Couple questions for the case modders out there.

How easy is it to redrill the holes on the back to mount 92mm fans?

Should I replace the front fan with one/two of these 92mm fans?

Last question, these 92mm fans are 12V DC 0.5A fans with "non-standard 3 pin" connectors. What would I have to do to get these to work for me or are they not going to work at all? I don't know much about EE stuff so any pointers appreciated!

The 92mm fans will work with this case. One of the screw holes should match up with 80mm set, then drill the other 3. I would suggest that you cut out the metal guard for better air flow. You will want to have about the same cfm (in and out) of the case. Suck air in at the bottom front and pull air out the upper rear or add a blowhole. I use a 120mm in front lower with 80mm rear and 80mm blowhole top, but you can use the 92mm just as well.

With none standard plugs, you may want to put them on a fanbus. You will also want to attach them to a 4 pin connector and not to the MOBO 3 pin anyway. You can find some good information on how to for FanBus Setup Here.

Also, do a search for "7237" under cases and cooling. You will get some other threads and information that might help. Probably some links also.

Any reason to not use the fan grills that are on the fans? What's the easiest method/tool for cutting open the case?

My 300W PSU is already full, any recommendations on a new, larger PSU? Maybe up to 400W?

techfuzz....use a dremel tool for cutting open the front or rear of your case , but if your gonna cut a blow-hole on the top or the side , use a bi-metal or carbide hole-saw . i would use the fan grills on both fans and a filter on any intake fan. try pcpowerandcooling.com for the PSU , or look on pricewatch.com.

I personally prefer Enermax and Antec over PCPowerandCooling for power supplies....mostly because PC Power and Cooling PSU's are WAY overpriced and much louder than either the Antec or Enermax.

The fan grills can be used after you cut out for 92mm hole. I personally prefer the chrome grills that I purchased from 2cool. You may want to check the power usage of your system to see if you really need a 400w P/S. Very seldom is it necessary to have over a 300w. You can purchase Y cables if you need more plugs and also use the fanbus a I mentioned previous.

I have 120mm, 2X80mm, 60mm, 40mm plus P/S and 2 Harddrives, DVD-Rom, CD-RW, Zip100, USB Mouse, USB Printer, USB Scanner, 2 NIC's, Video, Sound cards and still have watts left over with my Antec 300w.

Silly question time, is there any EASY way to determine how much power is actually being used?

The spare 92mm fans have those chrome grills already :) I guess I can spare myself that cost at least.

techfuzz... the amp rating of your fans can be found on a website that sells them under the description ie. 2cooltek.com or caseetc.com both have the specs. i wouldnt worry about your 300w PSU as the fans only pull about 1-2 amps per fan.

I have the 7237 and was able to mod it pretty easily. I used a hole saw to drill out the back. It was kind of a pain to hold the drill steady because of the "grille" in the back of the case. I would recommend either a dremel tool or using the hole saw in a drill press.

I did not put grilles of any kind on any of my exhaust holes. The only place I have a grille is on the top (blowhole) and the only reason was so my stupid cat (yes his name is koukla) doesnt get his tail in my 92mm fan.

I sinmply cut out the metal parts, and drilled new holes. I have a 92 in the front, a 92 in the back and a 120 on the top and it works great!

You can check my site for a few pics here and when you are done send me some pics so I can put them up in my gallery, which will be p by friday.
