eMule: TCP? UDP?

How can I find my TCP port and UDP port? I have no idea what these things are first of all, second of all what does these 'ports' do?
 
In eMule go to Options then Connections. You'll see the TCP & UDP ports it's using listed under "Client port". It uses these ports to receive traffic from other users. You'll need to forward those two ports on your router to your computer or use UPnP.
