Emulation on the PS2

Rather than try to hook up my old consoles which I may or may not still have the hookups/adapters for, I'd rather load up all my favorite old snes/NES games on my PS2. Does the PS2 handle emulators pretty well? I couldn't find much info on google. Hopefully someone here has tried it. Something I could run off of HDloader would be nice.

Yeah, I think it does. I don't think we can mention specifics on this forum, but most of them work pretty well. The SNES one lags with audio, although I haven't used the PS2 for emulation in like 4 years so they may have fixed it by now.
Wii is 500,000x better with its Channels and SD card slot, but PS2 is definitely workable.

Yeah I'm sure Wii is a lot better. I'd like to use a PS2 controller though rather than trying to use a wiimote to play SNES games. I'm sure you could buy a controller for the Wii that'd be much better suited to older games but eh I guess I'll try it out in PS2 first. Hopefully having the HD in there makes it easier.

Anywhooo, I could probably find what I'm looking for with more googlin'. But usually I just get old forum threads from 2006 with little/outdated information, and links about emulating the PS2 on PC which isn't what I want at all 😛

bleh the more I read about it the more it seems like a giant pain in the ass. Figured it be easy to just run them off the PS2 HD using HDloader.

Maybe I'll break out my old dreamcast and run emulation on that. That's also a huge pain in the ass though, but I've managed to do it before. It was so long ago I completely forgot though 😛

Don't suppose anyone here remembers how to install DreamSNES onto a CD-R?

The instructions are confusing as a motherfucker: http://mc.pp.se/dc/dreamsnes/#inst

I think it's probably a lot easier to do than they make it sound. Guide is probably for windows 98 though in the first place.

Yeah the first time I tried to install Nester DC and DreamSNES I got them working on my DC without much trouble, but the last couple times I've tried to do it I've been pulling my hair out it's so crazy confusing. Probably something to do with using Vista and those programs/guides being made in 2001 😛

edit: ahh I got dreamsnes working but game run really slow on it, much slower than I remember...shrug. At least I got NES games working.

You can use any PS2 to Gamecube adapter that are like 13 dollars on amazon to use your PS2 on the Wii.
