Do any one have used emu -1820 professioanl card from creative. I heard (on net) that it is very nice sound card. But i didn't get any information that it can used for listening dolby digital 5.1 channel sound or dts in DVD. I mean can it be used to listen DVD sound from 5.1 to 7.1 speakers.

Please let me know

I have the audigy 2z and it rox. I'm using 7.1 speakers with it and the sound is amazing. Hard to believe that they can improve on it.

That would be the EMU10k1 😉

Not sure ill have to read up on it but AFAIK Soundstorm is the only consumer level sound card to encode in realtime which i think is what you are getting at.

It's the same as the 1212m with an external unit. On head-fi it's a highly regarded sound card. I'm not sure that it does more than stereo.

It's the same as the 1820M, not the 1820.

As for your card inquiries, I'd try Production Forums. Ichi or whoever from EMU usually visits/responds in those forums.
