Emsisoft is 8 years old and they are celebrating by offering Online Armor Firewall or Emsisoft Anti-malware for $8 each for 8 days only.

On December 10th in 2003, our first software went online. Eight years later, more than six million users benefit from more than five million signatures, years of developing of our behavior analysis and numerous test wins. We would like to thank you for your trust and celebrate with you!

The negative of the Emsisoft Anti-malware is that it is only a one year deal. I have Malwarebytes for $10 and that's lifetime.

The only suggestion I have is that you can try it before you buy it. I have been using Online Armor firewall for years now and I like it.

Thing is, most of the question of how good an anti-virus program is isn't that clear by trying it. 'You have no infections'. Um, nice font🙂

I quit hanging on computer security forums over a year ago so I haven't really kept up on what's best. It was called A-squared anti-malware in the past. The anti-malware has both an anti-malware scanner and anti-virus scanner. It also has a behavior blocker which goes beyond what blacklist scanners can do. If you want reviews you will need to google them as the only one that I know of that is reliable is AV-Comparatives.org and I don't see Emsisoft listed as a participant.

I think both programs would make an excellent security suite because of the HIPS (host-based intrusion prevention system) in the firewall and the behavior block in the anti-malware.
