I'm just curious how many people work more then the ideal 40/hrs 5 days/week.

I'm BACK at work after I closed last night at midnight. Worked on this restaurants menu, realized it was 6:00am, took at 20 minute nap and back to the shop to open again.
I work 7 days a week and I never know what day of the week it is.

I wish I had a 9-5 5days/week job.

What's your thought?

Just edited to add all days for the the peeps that woke up this morning with one nerve left. :disgust:

Big, big difference between 4 days per week, and 6 days per week. I usually work 3-5, also in a restaurant, but I refuse to work more, unless I really need extra money. Life is too interesting to spend it working. One needs balance.

WTH kinda poll options are those? Topic says 5 days but no 5-day option. Big difference in a 4-day work week and a 6-day.

You suck at teh polls

:p

Maybe I'm just being too anal....I just woke up ;)

Technically I work 8-5 M-F. When I have to do a server upgrade, or like next weekend when I have to upgrade our anti-virus server, I'll go in on a weekend. I normally just take a half day off here or there to make up for it, but with school starting up again my boss said just come in when you can. I'm not the highest paid admin out there, but it's the most flexible job. As long as my work is done, and I answer my cell and pager I'm ok. I have put 80 hours in before though. Somtimes sh!t happens.

normal work hours, M-F 7am-3pm, 40 hours
paid every 2 weeks, 36 paychecks a year

on rare occasion asked to work 5am-1pm,like after a bad snowstorm,to help clean up parking areas

any other hours are not normal;and are overtime.

We have not had any o/t since all the snow melted, and money is snug,i am thinking about a part time job
which would bite. :(

Considering 99 percent of all jobs are m-f (by the way 87% of all statistics are made up on the spot, including that one) To group a 5 day week in with anything else is teh suck.

The poll is worthless becuase most people work 5, and most people who work extra work 6 days. But grouping them together you will not be able to seperate the two in order to get what you want.

For the past two weeks I've been working 8am-9pm everyday. 7 days a week. I usually work 12:45-9pm though.

Work 5 days a week but just got approval for telecommuting!! Woohoo! It will only be one day a week but that is one day a week I don't have to spend 2 to 2-1/2 hours in the car.

Fri, Sat & Sun off.

now that is what I call a dream shift :)

That was the proposal I made to my boss but she gave me the telecommuting option instead. Still, not a bad option as far as options go.

6 or 7 days a week. From 40-80+ hours a week.

Edit: I work nights too. My clock is all messed up.

I have had that shift for almost 8 years. I just changed jobs with the same outfit but got to keep the same hours. Here's some pics from my "office".

My winter shifts can be 12 hours a day, 7 days a week but the money is good.

Big fat ZERO! But I'm in the interview process with three different companies, so hopefully I'll be able to say something different soon. Now, if the army thing had worked out, it would be "all of my waking hours, and then some".. (I have a bone spur in the heel of my left foot, so I cannot run long distances, which is why I am not still in the army.. :( )

I work 2 jobs, have a PT M-F job then another job that is whenever they schedule me. I guess I work about 6 days a week, since I never work Sundays. Although sometimes working 4 hours at the PT job then like 5.5 hours at the other job is like more then a days work...
