Employee Deleted Files Off the Share Drive

Status

Basically someone at work went on the share drive and deleted everything that was not in a folder.
I think this was done on purpose but the higher-ups don't think so or simply don't care.

No way do I see someone selecting 50+ files and 'accidentally' deleting them while ignoring the folders.
Has this ever happened to someone at work?

It was done on purpose. I guarantee it. Hunt this employee down and teach him a lesson he'll never forget.

this

it should involve peanut butter and a hot poker.

i used to delete stuff all the time if the shared drives weren't protected.

why would u do that? lol

because if it isn't protected, it doesn't deserve to be there. oh, and the fact i was an asshole and couldn't stand the director of our IS/IT department. anything to make their life miserable, i was there.

Shadow copies in Server 2003 make this an easy issue to fix. If this fails, I just use Asigra to restore it back to whatever generation is requested. Asigra is pretty darn awesome especially now having multiple vaults replicating between each other in different states. 😀 This product has made one part of my life easier thankfully!

Don't you back them up? Why is this even an issue?
