Empire or Jedi?

Empire is better IMO due to its story. It had a much more serious, darker feel to it since it was the middle movie in the series and didn't necessarily need to have a "happy" conclusion. If I just want to be entertained, Jedi is more enjoyable due to its more light-hearted nature and inevitably "happy" conclusion.

in truth, all the bad parts of star wars are lucas's fault. I hate him. But when he had less control, i.e. Empire, awesome movie

This is not even a close call. ROTJ was too sickly sweet for me even when I was 13, when it came out. Empire is wonderfully violent and dark, and a great follow-up to SW. I think ROTJ is comparable to The Godfather Part 3 in terms of its massive dropoff in quality versus the first two, and really not much better than Episode One.

As much as I liked the opening and the space sequences of RoTJ, I will have to go with Empire as well. Nice and dark and Vader layin the smack down on everybody. Sweet.

Empire, hands down. ROTJ had the best space battle, but start to finish, ESB is just a better story.

I think most people (as reflected by the polls) like Empire more. I like Jedi more except for the fact about Leia's voice. Jeeeeeeeeeez, it's horrible.
