Empire Earth... anyone playing this?

Well I see the game has finally come out (well maybe a month ago ) and looked through the thread here and didn't see anyone commenting on the game. I was wondering if it is bad or if no one is playing it or what. I remeber looking forward to this game ever since I saw previews, all the features looked so cool. I always had fun with AOE and the like and thought that this would be even better since you can go through some 14 or so epochs. Anyone have any comments about it? Thanks

I have heard nothing but good things about it. I'm planning to buy it within a week or 2. Did you just play AOE or did you play AOE2 and the expansion (conquerors). I never played the first, but the 2nd was great and the expansion made it even better, they improved a lot of things. I would expect that it will be an improvement over the expansion and as long as there aren't any balance issues (there probably will be a couple) then it will be one of my favorite games ever. I can't wait for an update or expansion to it already.(I know it just came out)

BTW it has been retailing a little cheaper at SAMs CLUB and Walmart. Right around $40.

awesome grafix, my only complaint is that it takes SO LONG to advance epochs (too any resources, long time before u get "good" units). for my upcoming christmas lan party i'll be doing quick and dirty AOE II: Conquerors.

It's really good looking, but it bores me after a while. I think I'm just tired of this kind of game, though.

If you liked Age of Empires/Kings a lot, you'll have a ball.

It's good, but feels like a rehashed version of AOE2, In some ways it is better, especially the visuals and the game variability- In others ways I didnt like it as much. Resources generally last forever and combat units are harder to control (less options), although this may be something I am missing as my manual is in German

One thing I like is that the computer AI is competitive. On hard I actually find it hard to beat, whereas on 99% of RTS games I find hard too easy after even 1-2 games. The last game I played I didnt win until the WW2 epoch, which was a very long game indeed

My only real gripe is that it treats naval combat in the same way as AOE2, ie galleys bombing the land in a most annoying way (especially on small maps)

Greatest FPS ever! I only play certain epochs... ie ww2 to nano.. that way games don't take a billion years... it's pretty well balanced, but the computer cheats waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much... it's so addictive when playing online.

I looove this game, IMO its like AoE done right. The computer does cheat a bit....a lot but it keeps it challenging.
