How many Super Bowls have the Cowboys won? 5? But they suck?!?!? You can't expect a team to be the best every year, they have to rebuild at some point, and thats what the cowboys are doing.

Since its Emmitt's last year(he knows it, everyone knows it), the Cowboys are retooling into a west coast offense. The Cowboys have 5 rings, 3 in the '90s. How many rings do the Eagles have? Thats what I thought. The Cowboys will eventually be back deep into the playoffs, this year they havent had the offensive line healthy, with SEVEN(7) different lines in 8 weeks. Thats a huge factor.

Didn't even know Emmitt was that close to the record until someone mentioned it earlier this season, it seems like he kind of quietly sneaked up on it.

Well as long as JJ is running the show it is going to be a LONG rebuilding process. My guess is they will be rebuilding until JJ sells out.

Emmitt should be remembered purely for durability, he has only missed 7 games in is ENTIRE career, that's really something else. Emmitt was never the fastest, never the most agile, never the most explosive runner, but he was ALWAYS consistent when it came to putting up yards for the team, he played damn smart football and was always tough as a rock. I've seen him make more than enough people miss tackles over and over again to know that the line he had back in the day was NOT the ONLY key to this mans success, a good line is nothing if you dont have a person adept at reading play's, and that in itself is very challenging. You dont walk into the NFL and start setting all-time records JUST because you had a good line

, a good line is a factor to ANY good running game and all record setting backs have had a somewhat admirable line. He is not THE best back ever to play in the NFL, he knows it, you know, we all know it. But he IS one of the best, if not for his physical ability, then for his ability to make something happen on almost every play and never get hurt. He deserves every bit of respect that Payton and Sanders had. Those 2 guy's seemed like God's on the field, and those type of player's are few and far between.

But Sanders did quit, and that will be his legacy, not breaking any record. I hate the Cowboys with a passion, but give the man his due. Congrats Emmit!🙂
