i bought it the day it came out. many people are saying it's not as good as his first or second one but i beg to differ. on first listen, there aren't many catchy songs but you gotta listen to them 2-3 times over before you get hooked. right now the song i can't get out of my head is "spend some time". eminem's still got it.

so anybody else heard this album yet?

it's good stuff. the songs i liked in particular:

mosh
just lose it
ass like that
spend some time
mockingbird
crazy in love

yeah, its good stuff. theres aren't that many pop songs to that can be used to attracted the big mainstream, but the songs are still good.

i think it has more depth to it as he's putting more meaning into his lyrics...it isn't quite as catchy as the past albums, as we're used to his rhythm by now. I listened to the entire thing in the car today, long drive...pretty good for a first-listen.

Eminem doesn't really need it as much as he did the first few times - he has a dedicated fan base now.
Re: the new album: I like it.

I think half the songs are good. I don't like how he tries to be a gangster Weird Al with all his "joke" songs.

its a bit silly, but its a good, catchy album. i like the production on this one a lot. half dre production, half em. i used to not think of em as that good of a producer (in fact, a lot of his beats sounded too similiar for my tastes), but he really surprised me on this album.

fave tracks (in order):
puke (been there, done that, can relate)
like toy soldiers (speaks on the inc. and benzino beefs, good beat and sampling martika)
spend some time (the girl's voice on the hook is catchy, 50's verse is garbage, gawd shouldn't have had stat quo split a verse w/ him)
crazy in love (sampling heart's 'crazy on you', good beat)
rain man (good haunting dre beat, im going to hell, i laughed at the reeve comments [and darth must've put a hex on him for later])

I absolutely hate this album. His best songs imo have been ones like the way i am and cleaning out my closet; ie songs where he doesn't make his voice sound all goofy and computer generated or whatever. Still think he's one of the best in the game, this one just was too weird to appeal to me.

I'm not too impressed by it. I guess it's hard to top the Marshall Mathers LP, but even the Eminem Show was better than this.

only tracks that i like are toy soldiers, yellow brick road, and mockingbird, and that last track is alright

ooo thanks for reminding me!

< making copies of my cd's so i can put them in my car, almost forgot to backup digital undergrounds 'sex packets'

"Ass Like That" is FANTASTIC. The Hilary Duff line made me literally ROFL.
"My 1st Single" is also a favorite.

He seems to be obsessed with bodily function sounds on this album. Rather immature and grosses you out a bit, but whatever.

Favorite songs in order:
Ass Like That
Just Lose It
My 1st Single
Mosh

I was listening to it on my way to an internship today and back.

It really doesn't sound that good. It's like he put TOO much effort into it.
