OK, help me understand this. What makes all mainstream music bad? I like a lot of underground stuff too, but the whole key to music is being open minded. I listen to everything from Beck to Dr. Dre to Smashing Pumpkins to King Konga. I hate it when someone says that all music in a certain genre or category sux. Usually it is these people that have never truly listened to the stuff they are bashing. Yes, a lot of mainstream music sux. If I hear NSUCK or the Backdoor boys one more time, I'm gonna croak. But, as a musician I can tell you, there is a lot of good music being made today. Mainstream and Underground. Like Dave Matthews for starters.

OK, if you actually listened to his albums, he says on the album that he doesn't do or belive in the things he raps about. It is entertainment. Just like movies, video games, and television. Slim Shady is a character that he created. Kind of like Kiss. The bottom line is that it is just entertainment and if parents would do their jobs, it wouldn't matter what anybody rapped about or showed on TV. It is the parent's responsibility to teach their kids right from wrong. My parents did and I have never once taken a movie, video game, or violent song seriously because IT IS JUST ENTERTAINMENT!!! Nothing more. If some sh*thead shoots up in his school because some guy with a guitar or turntable tells them to, then they were a sh*thead in the 1st place and would've done it eventually anyway. It would have just been something else that would have set them off. But, once again, it goes back to the parents.

 

Eminem = &quot;Where Are They Now&quot; fodder.

His song Stan is fairly good...but the rest of his stuff (most or all) sux0rs and as a person I put him right down with Mike Tyson; the two celebrities who I think would do better as fertilizer.

what a lot of people fail to realize is that EMINEM is a skilled rapper his flow is very good and on par with the likes of Qtip (tribe called quest) or Ice-T both of which are know as masters of &quot;freestyle rap&quot; and if you've ever heard EMINEM freestyle then you know what im talking about. Now I know the subject matter is questionable but so is alot other music... you ever listen to cannibal corpse I don't here anybody complaining about them and you know why cause there white guys playing white music... what realy bothers most people is that EMINEM is a white guy playing so called BLACK music and alot of people just can't deal with that.
