I'm just gonna bump this and mock you at the same time. I think keyboards are cheap enough to not worry about it, and just buy a new one. My $0.02

Oh no, my extra spaces were omitted. Rats. I had posted this with like 5 spaces between each word. Just read my post, close your eyes, imagine the humor, and move along.

For a cheap generic keyboard, the $9.99 Comp USA branded one isn't too bad. I just bought one for my spare comp that I'm running Linux on.

At $20, an MS keyboard offers slightly better feel and durability.

$30 buys a MS Natural KB, which is what I generally prefer.

Point is, functional keyboards are pretty cheap. Got $10?

Boot with a dos disk (like a win 98 start up floppy) and try using edit. Then you will know if it's HW related or not.
