embed(ded) fonts

I just noticed that a saved document i created in word didnt look right on my work PC. It seems as though some of the fonts i used aren't on my work pc. IS there a way to embed the fonts i use when creating a document similar to the way fonts are embedded in FLash .swf files?

Usually I would think that your font would work if it's installed in your computer. I don't think the font can be "embedded" in your document like a Flash .swf. There's a difference between the two file types... the Flash .swf uses vectors and such for presentation whereas word processors use mostly text only.

You can set Office 2000 to embed fonts; I'm not sure what the editing level is though on the computer without the font installed. I do't have office on this computer at the moment, I'll find the answer on how to go about it in a little bit when I'm at my other comp.

In Word go to tools and options, and click on the save tab. It should have "embed true type fonts". This is turned off by default because embeding fonts will increse the size of the document.
