I was told that I could listen to the radio at a reasonable volume from nine to eleven, I told Bill that if Sandra is going to listen to her headphones while she's filing then I should be able to listen to the radio while I'm collating so I don't see why I should have to turn down the radio because I enjoy listening at a reasonable volume from nine to eleven.
:thumbsup:

Yeah, it's like they think it's transparent and isn't logged or noticed. "oh! I'll teach those dumb IT people, I'll just use a proxy!!!! I'm uber smart!"

And it's not always bandwidth....they just generate so many connections.....even when the users aren't running the P2P applications. Hello,
I wanted to know if I coule have access to pandora.com, music station. I had access before. Listening to music while I work is very helpful to me.
Thanks.
My reply
User;
We block music sites because it puts an unneeded load on our network, the load can interfere with business applications. The only thing I can suggest is to use a radio to listen to music, if your manager approves.
All it takes is 10-15 @ 128kbps users streaming to bring a T1 to it's knees. Not sure what kind of WAN connection they have... but im with the OP on this one.
yip, we have a T-1 but a DS3 is in the works and we should have it installed soon. but the internet radio is still going to be blocked. its a waste of network resources.

UPDATE**
18 June
OK I thought the Pandora thing was bad enough, this takes the cake. I get a MOM alert for a new host, check out the dns logs and the thing is hitting a bunch of playstation URLs. Hummmm, this is strange it almost looks like somebody plugged a playstation into the network. So I call the office, I ask for a manager and the guy tells me they do not have an on site manager. I tell the guy it looks like there is a playstation on the network, his response.... "Is that going to be a problem?"... my response.. "Ya! Disconnect it".
:roll:
here is the alert.
