I think this rebate company is giving me the run around. Luckly I sent my rebate "Signature Confirmation".
They claimed they never received the rebate and asked me to email them the documents. I did and they claim the can't open them. They are .jpgs. Now, when I resend it I get this email but they did respond to it. They still claim they can't open it. I sent it from my attbi account with the images inserted so that they don't have to open anything but I get the same email.
Are they getting the email or playing with me?

Looks like there is a problem with the users account that you sent the email to. The end of your message sums it up pretty well. The mail service is unable to extract the "files" for that user. It could be any of a number of problems, but it looks like it may be that they created a bogus user to try and not pay the rebates.

Have you tried contacting them through here? Looks like this should be their "official rebate query page"...

I used the form on Staples Rebate page which looks exactly like that one.
Staples
They are responding to my emails which makes the one I copied and pasted seem odd. I email them, I get that message and later they respond. But it's always the same thing. "We can't open your attachments" or the latest, "we have no record of you".
I posted the rebate form and the sig confirmation form on a web site so they can't claim they can't see them.

I have copies of everything with Signature Confirmation. I emailed Maxtor and Staples to see if they could put some pressure on them.

Yes. They asked me to email it. Now that I think about it, probably with the intention of saying that they couldn't open the attachments.

Got this from Maxtor.

Chris,
Your email was forwarded to me for assistance. I am pretty sure that when you apply for a Maxtor manufacturer rebate, it goes to Texas. But the promo # that was given to you, looks like one of ours. I know that Staples uses the same rebate company that we do, Parago. So I am going to send all of your information over to them to see if they can enter you for this promotion. If they are not able to, then I will just have them cut you a check for $30.
I will let you know as soon as I hear back from them.
