I thought it has to be heard from a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend (ie. friend^5) to be true.

This is a hoax. Check out Truth or Fiction

My sister sent me this same e-mail asking me to verify it's validity online.

EDIT:

<< This does not mean that nothing will happen. All of us in the United States are living in a state of alert because of the certainty of further terrorist activities, but this particular warning about Halloween and shopping malls is an eRumor, according to the law enforcement agencies we've talked with. >>

So they are going after EVERY MALL in EVERY TOWN in EVERY STATE on Halloween ? Also according to ALL REPORTS of suspected and questionable suspects THEY NEVER do anything like this they are loners and will stick to themself. Its very hard to believe and it wont be hard to find the truth but to me it's BS.

It's a hoax, nothing more, nothing less.

I feel kinda bad for all the paranoid people out there who will miss a night of trick-or-treating because someone sent them a forwarded e-mail.

That's why I delete forwards on arrival.

Anytime a "friend" of anyone like that says they were warned about something or cautioned about this take it with grain of salt. These scum (their not human) are loners, they stick to themself, they live in groups (2 or more) and in most cases they are law abiding citizens. They will not speed, they will not drink (in most cases) because they believe once you get arrested or "in a conflict" you are on watch and can be tracked. For the most part you will not know they exist other they seeing them going in and out of their residence or building.

No, but I forwarded the email he sent me (well, a friend of a friend of a friend's friend sister's brother in law, who's a lawyer, so we know everything he says is the truth) so I should be getting my check for $2000 anytime now. Each day when the mail comes, I run as fast as I can to the mailbox, hoping the check came. I'm going to use the money to buy postcards to send to that Craig kid in england who's dying of cancer.
