How can i set up email for my domain name... well without paying for hosting...

I host my website myself and how can i host Email for @mydomain.com?
Would i open the POP3 port in my router?

just talk to dartworth for a free hosting account, he was offering them a while ago and probably still is...

much simpler and no need to deal with your own e-mail server...

It's possible without web hosting.

Did you register a domain? Yes or No.

Who did you register your domain with?

im with 1and1.com for all 4 of my domain's...I love em, they just have option's in there control panel that you configure for email addy's. Im not sure how much it cost's, since I got the "Free Business" package a few years ago that is good for 5 years free.
