email domain limitations?

when i first discovered the AnandTech forums i had problems getting an account. shortly thereafter it was suggested to me by a number of members that it might be the email address i was submitting while signing up for an account. some members were saying that these forums didn't accept email addresses that belonged to the AOL domain. so i created an ICQmail account, used it in my application to become a member here, and just had all my mail at the ICQ account forwarded to my AOL account. so anyways, i hadn't looked at my profile in over a year until today, and i noticed i still had my ICQ account listed there. i want to change it to my AOL address if at all possible. if i do that, will i still get email notifications AnandTech when someone responds to a thread i'm subscribed to even if its an AOL email account?

i believe it's going to say that you have entered a forbidden e-mail address and you might be locked out of your account. i wouldnt do it if i were you. just get some other free mail service that is allowed here at anandtech.
