Outlook.

I get lots of email every day due to my job. I have lots and lots of contacts. I am constantly sending and recieving attachments. I rely on spell check for outgoing posts. I like being able to compose e-mails even when I don't have internet available.

Outlook, definitely. I wish that someone would come up with a less expensive client, but it's definitely the best.

I've always gone back and forth between a client (such as Outlook or Thunderbird) and the actual email account. Right now I'm on the account.

If you vote client, please mention which one you use.

An email account without a client of some sort is utterly useless, you know. You are not "on the account", you're using the web email client.

I guess it depends. When it was a choice between accessing my school's email through the crap web-interface and Thunderbird, it was Thunderbird hands down. But then I started using gmail a lot more and just forwarded my school e-mail to my gmail account. Stopped using Thunderbird shortly after that and pretty much only use the web-interface of Gmail.

we have a winner!

you all realize that gmail now works offline rite?

I got stuck migrating my mail from Earthlink once, and swore that would never happen again. I use only open source email clients. That way I'll always be able to access my mail, and if it comes down to it, I can recode the app myself, or pay someone to do it for me.

I don't like e-mail clients in general... I use GMail whenever possible.

That said, I hate Outlook and Lotus Notes about equally. They both seem sluggish and decide to crash at the worst possible times... like when you click send on a three paragraph e-mail :|

gmail ftw

i like outlook 2k7. i wish we'd upgrade at work. although, we're only a few years past the office 2k3 upgrade.

i use outlook 2007 at work on my work login, but use the webmail interface when working out in the field. if i need old emails, ill load up my domain account and get them. for personal, i use the webmail for my isp as well as gmail. overall, i manage 5 email accounts for different reasons. 2 are outlook the others are webmail. i havent had cause to change from outlook, its been pretty decent for our needs here at work.

edit:

i didnt vote, because even tho i dont use a client on my personal puter, i dont find it useless at all.

definitely useful. i use mail.app in osx, and it just works with my personal domain that has gmail on it (IMAP ftw). its very useful for me to see my emails when im offline, like if the internet goes down or if im on the road/go. works with gmail flawlessly, as well as my stupid school's POP3 email (why they cant "upgrade" to IMAP is beyond me).
