is it appropriate to use your work email address on your resume?

I'm thinking no?

I would use my alumni email address, but it only forwards that to another email. I can't reply to emails from that address.

But then is it ok to to use gmail?

What would you do?

Yes it is fine to use the gmail one. Just make sure it isn't crazy. First name DOT or UNDERSCORE surname @ host.com reads well imo.

email address on resume should be your personal email address.

that way you don't have to revise/update your resume everytime you leave one company to the next.

Whenever I apply for internships or scholarships I usually put my hotmail or school e-mail and I've yet to have a problem, except I never get scholarship offers :(

You can setup gmail to allow you to send email from your alumni address. It's in options somewhere. It'll send an email to your alumni address with a code, you then put that code in the gmail options and it allows you to send mail from that address.

Gmail FTW

you can do that with thunderbird too.

regardless, I have a "professional" email address I use. I've rarely used it, but you should have one too. personal domain FTW as well.

Wouldn't you have to do that anyway?
