So my Emachines has had periodic problems of just shutting down and rebooting, multiple times in a row sometimes, but i just ignored it and let it happen. Well just yesterday i unplug all of my connections to the computer(like mouse and monitor and stuff) and plug them into another computer. After transferring files for like 2 hrs i replugged everything into my emachines, and it wouldn't turn on. So I let it sit overnight, just to see what would happen in the morning. no change.
So thinking it was a power supply problem, as most Emachines i hear have, I install a different power supply which was hooked up to my moms emachines(same model). well that didnt work. but my PS worked in my moms computer, so after testing it 3 times, i finally decided to switch the PS back. But after doing so, i find not only is mine still broken(assuming MOBO) but also my moms computer is broken(assuming my PS somehow shot her mobo). I tested a third time with my brothers PS, but it didnt work.
All im getting is a green light on my Mother board, but the computer wont turn on.
Both computers are emachines T2893, bought i believe in 2003 or 2004 after thanksgiving. Any help would be really appreciated. IF there is any way to salvage the computer i would love to do so.
