Is there ANY possible way to overclock an emachines etower 433i besides getting a new motherboard? I really want to overclock it, but I can't figure out how to overclock it.

I've tried SoftFSB, but I can't seem to get it to work. Maybe it would work if I knew what the target clock generator was, but how do I figure out what the clock generator is?

no, these are cheap systems that are limited to a 66 mhz CPU external clock. I think some can though but those are celerons running on p3 boards. I think there is 1 model that does so but i've worked on your model on a repair and i'm sure you can't overclock.

The socket7 AMD cpu'd emachines can o/c. I ran my k6-2 300 afr at 450 for 9 months. Not bad for $399 a year and a half ago. Then I dropped a k6-III 450 in(which emachines testicle support said wouldn't work) and have it quite stable at 500 @ 2.5v. But I know someone who has a 400 celly emachine and it will not o/c and Softfsb is NFG with it.
