Hi,

I just upgraded my 6805 to SP2 and I noticed my laptop hangs if I unplug the power cord from the laptop and I have to power off by pressing the power button for 4 seconds.

Anyone experience this problem and is there any fix on this,

Thanks

Not sure what the problem may be, but do you have any other power management software installed? Something like speedswitchxp might help. Most people have used that to manage their power settings, to avoid the 800Mhz problem when running on battery power. If that doesn't help, you might want to uninstall sp2 and see if you still have the same problem. You might also want to check to make sure you have the latest Bios version on your machine.

I do have speedswitchxp to fix the 800mhz problem and it's working fine.

The hanging problem only happens afterI install sp2. When I restore my older (non sp2) image, everyting is fine.

How do I 'uninstall' sp2? Do I just go to Add/Remove programs in Control Panel? Or use 'System Restore'? I would like to try that to see if it make any differences compare to restore my image file.

I have the original 6805 bios, I don't believe the 6805 has a new bios, please let me know if I am wrong.

I guess I can flash it with the 6809 or is it the 6811 bios but I am reluctant to do so as I don't want to mess up the machine (it's my wife's business machine) 🙂

Incidentally, anyone know where I can find a newer bios for the 6805 and the flashing procedure?

Thanks
