eMachines Computer $299 at Best Buy

I picked this computer up today. I needed a very cheap Linux computer.

I am pretty impressed with this thing for $299! No rebates.

The major flaw of the system is the 256MB of RAM

I had a spare stick of 1 GB PC3200 ram laying around, stuck it in and the computer sprung to life.

It even looks like if you stick in more RAM, The onboard video uses 128MB of your system RAM. I believe this makes this computer able to use Aero Glass with Windows Vista.

The computer even has a PCI-Express Slot.

I haven't putten Linux on it yet. Still downloading the latest Suse build.
